JAIL POPULATION AS OF JAN. 29 (19 MALES & 6 FEMALES) TOTAL OF 25 INMATES

ARRESTS

On January 23rd Deputy Lipscomb arrested Randy Lee Jones Jr. from Weogufka, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On January 25th Deputy Lipscomb arrested Nataya Lanetria Thomas from Alexander City, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation/Drug Court Sanction. She was processed and placed in the County Jail to serve a 48 Hour Drug Court Sanction.

On January 25th Deputy Rudd arrested Joseph Earl Whitman from Clanton, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On January 26th Deputy Lipscomb arrested Brian Wayne Hart from Leeds , AL. on warrants for Theft of Property 1st , Burglary 3rd and Theft of Property 3rd. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $40,000 bond to await trial.

On January 26th Deputy Rudd arrested Amethyst Dawn Simpson from Dadeville, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation. She was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On January 27th Deputy House arrested Thomas Charles Thompson from Alexander City, AL. on the charges of Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Speeding. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $ 4300 bond to await trial.

MARBLE VALLEY

On January 25th Marble Valley First Responders, Sylacauga Ambulance and Deputies were dispatched to CR 5 after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. One person was airlifted by LifeSaver to UAB Hospital in Birmingham and the scene was turned over to the Deputies.

 

STEWARTVILLE

On January 26th Stewartville First Responders, Sylacauga Ambulance, a Deputy and an Alabama State Trooper were dispatched to Hwy 280 near CR 150 after receiving a report of a two vehicle accident. One person was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center and the scene was turned over to the Trooper.

On January 28th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 29 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

GOODWATER

On January 26th Stacy Bernard McKinney a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 52 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

KELLYTON

On January 27th Kellyton Medics were dispatched to McClellan Road after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

RICHVILLE

On January 28th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 152 after receiving a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

ROCKFORD

On January 25th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 231 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

On January 28th a Deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office after a resident came in to report a case of Trespassing. A report was completed and the warrant process was explained.

EQUALITY

On January 26th Deputy Rudd attended the Monthly Neighborhood Watch Meeting where he presented the monthly crime report for the area.

RAY

On January 26th J.C. Winslett Jr. a convicted Sex Offender that resides on Hwy 22 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

 

Shooting in Hidden Valley

PRESS RELEASE

 

January 27, 2017

On January 25, 2017, at approximately 1:22 p.m. a 911 call was received by the Coosa County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center indicating a person had been shot on Coosa County Road 5 in the Hidden Valley Community.

Deputies arrived on scene and found Sylacauga Ambulance and Marble Valley Fire first responders rendering assistance to Charlie Hayes, 63, of Hidden Valley who had sustained a gunshot wound. Mr. Hayes was airlifted to UAB Hospital and later died from his injuries.

The scene was secured by the Sheriff’s Deputies and a preliminary investigation revealed there was a dispute, concerning a dog, between Hayes and Michael Mitchell, 73, of Marble Valley. The investigation is actively ongoing. All findings will be turned over to the 40th Judicial Circuit District Attorney upon completion of the investigation.

On January 17th Lt. Hammond arrested Justin Lee Curtis from Sylacauga, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Pay/Arson 2nd. He was processed and released after fines were paid.

On January 17th Deputy Rudd arrested Jhermara Ann Moon from Talladega, AL. on warrants for Failure to Appear/Speeding, Driving While Suspended and Failure to Display Insurance. She was processed and released after fines were paid.

On January 17th Deputy Rudd arrested Domineshia Juvonne Hoyett from Sylacauga, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Speeding. She was processed and released after fines were paid.

On January 18th Lt. Hammond arrested Allison Lori Dennis from Goodwater, AL. on warrants for Theft of Property 2nd and Identity Theft. She was processed and released on a $ 10,000 bond to await trial.

On January 18th Corporal Moon arrested Denisha Trenae Hutchins from Alexander City, AL. on a warrant for Negotiating a Worthless Instrument. She was processed and released on a $500 bond to await trial.

On January 20th Deputy House arrested Tyneeshia Necole Adams from Aliceville, AL. on the charges of Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Chemical Endangerment of a Child. She was processed and released on a $ 7500 bond to await trial.

On January 21st Richville First Responders and Haynes Ambulance were dispatched to River Road after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Baptist South Hospital in Montgomery.

On January 17th Adam Kyle Ivey a convicted Sex Offender that resides on Hill Street reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On January 17th William Lewis Leonard a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 101 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On January 17th Kortney Rashad Marbury a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 79 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On January 16th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 9 after receiving a request for a Funeral Escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

On January 17th Demetrius Lafarri McGowan a convicted Sex Offender that resides on Hickory Creek Drive reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On January 21st a Deputy was dispatched to CR 33 after receiving a report of a civil dispute. The Deputy spoke to both parties and the issue was resolved without incident.

On January 10th Corporal Moon arrested Timthie Roland Wall from Goodwater, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation/Drug Court Sanction. He was processed and placed in the County Jail to serve a 48 hour sanction.

On January 10th Corporal Moon arrested Andrew Scott Hall from Childersburg, AL. on warrants for Failure to Appear/Expired Tag and Driving While Revoked. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On January 4th Lt. Hammond arrested Seth Adam Thompson from Childersburg , AL. on warrants for Theft of Property 1st , Theft of Property 3rd and Burglary 3rd x 2. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $70,000 bond to await trial.

On January 5th Lt. Hammond arrested Christy Nicole Bailey from Leeds , AL. on warrants for Theft of Property 1st , Theft of Property 4th and Burglary 3rd. She was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $40,000 bond to await trial.

On January 1st a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 22 after receiving a report of a private property accident. A report was completed without incident.

JAIL POPULATION AS OF DECEMBER 18 (31 MALES & 7 FEMALES) TOTAL OF 38 INMATES

ARRESTS

On December 13th Deputy Jones arrested Jack Curtis Harrell and Johnny Ray Harrell from Rockford, AL. on the charges of Domestic Violence 3rd/ Harassment. They were processed and released on a $2000 bond each to await trial.

On December 13th Corporal Moon arrested Chad Eric Frye from Talladega, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Domestic Violence 3rd/Harassment. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On December 13th Deputy Jones arrested Jourdain Pierre McKinney from Goodwater, AL. on the charge of Possession of Marijuana 1st. He was processed and released on a $ 5000 bond to await trial.

On December 14th Lt. Keel arrested Degretio Antonia Sandlin from Alexander City, AL. on the charge of Failure to Appear/ Non Support of a Child. He was processed and released after a payout of $ 2000 was paid to the Department of Human Resources.

On December 14th Lt. Hammond arrested Monica Leann Mozingo from Sylacauga, AL. on a warrant for Theft of Property 3rd. She was processed and released on a $ 5000 bond to await trial.

On December 15th Deputy House arrested Stoney Woodrow Matherson from Talladega, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Driving While Revoked. He was processed and released after fines were paid.

On December 16th Corporal Moon arrested Michael NMN Haith from Pell City, AL. on warrants for Failure to Appear/Driving While Revoked and Speeding. He was processed and released after fines were paid.

On December 16th Corporal Moon arrested Tyler Jordan Archer from Sylacauga, Al. on the charges of Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $ 7000 bond to await trial.

On December 18th Deputy Rudd arrested Christopher Carl Kirk from Sylacauga, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Obstructing Governmental Operations and also the charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance. He was processed and placed in the County Jail with a $ 25,000 bond on the Possession charge and No Bond on the FTA charge.

On December 15th Lt. Keel arrested Latarious Marques Harrell from Anniston, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/ Giving False Name to Officer and Possession of Marijuana 1st. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On December 18th Deputy Rudd arrested Jennifer Lynn Carter from Clanton, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Giving False Name to Officer. She was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

CALLS FOR SERVICE

STEWARTVILLE

On December 12th Stewartville First Responders, a Deputy and an Alabama State Trooper were dispatched to CR 150 after receiving a report of a one vehicle accident. There were no reported injuries and the scene was turned over to the Trooper.

On December 13th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 74 after receiving a report of an Assault. A report was completed and the warrant process was explained.

WEOGUFKA

On December 17th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 29 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

HANOVER

On December 12th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 157 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

On December 13th Stewartville First Responders and a Deputy was dispatched to Rolling Mountain Road after receiving a report of a Missing Person. After a brief search the person was found safe and sound.

On December 14th Sylacauga Ambulance was dispatched to CR 75 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center.

On December 14th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 280 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

GOODWATER

On December 15th Kellyton Medics were dispatched to Jones Hills Road after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

KELLYTON

On December 14th a Deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office after a resident came in to report some Lost Property. A report was completed without incident.

On December 17th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 312 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. A report was completed and the warrant process was explained.

On December 18th Kellyton Medics were dispatched to CR 85 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

RICHVILLE

On December 14th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 29 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

ROCKFORD

On December 13th Deputies were dispatched to Hwy 231 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. Two subjects were arrested for Domestic Violence 3rd/ Harassment and a report was completed without incident.

On December 15th Rockford First Responders and Haynes Ambulance were dispatched to Martha Lane after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

RAY

On December 12th Kellyton Medics were dispatched to CR 73 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

On December 12th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 322 after receiving a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

On December 16th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 73 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

SMYRNA

On December 13th Deputy Jones attended the Monthly Neighborhood Watch Meeting where he presented the monthly crime report for the area.
