JAIL POPULATION AS OF MARCH 5 (14 MALES & 4 FEMALES) TOTAL OF 18 INMATES

 

ARRESTS

On February 28th Deputy House arrested Katelynn Michelle Stinson from Eclectic, AL. on the charge of Driving Under the Influence. She was processed and released on a $ 2500 bond to await trial.

On February 28th Deputy House arrested Annabelle Leigh Jones from Eclectic, AL. on the charge of Minor in Possession of Alcohol. She was processed and released on a $ 1000 bond to await trial.

On February 28th Corporal Moon arrested Lee Ann Atwood from Sylacauga, AL. on warrants for Failure to Appear/Public Intoxication and Possession of a Controlled Substance. She was processed and placed in the County Jail with no bond to await trial.

On February 28th Deputy Rudd arrested Shanequia Marte Lauderdale from Sylacauga, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Move over Law. She was processed and released after fines were paid.

On March 1st Deputy Lipscomb arrested Joshua David Risher from Sylacauga, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation/Drug Court Sanction. He was processed and placed in the County Jail for a 48 hour Drug Court Sanction.

On March 2nd Deputy Jones arrested Thaddeus Ontan Bibb from Montgomery, AL. on the charges of Attempting to Elude, Resisting Arrest, Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $17,500 bond to await trial.

MARBLE VALLEY

On March 3rd a Deputy was dispatched to Holly Springs Road after receiving a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

On March 4th a Deputy was dispatched to Holly Springs Road after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

STEWARTVILLE

On February 27th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 231 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. The Deputy spoke to both parties and explained the process and a report for information was completed.

HANOVER

On February 28th Stewartville First Responders, Sylacauga Ambulance, a Deputy and an Alabama State Trooper were dispatched to Hwy 280 after receiving a report of a two vehicle accident. One subject was transported to Russell Medical Center and the scene was turned over to the Trooper.

GOODWATER

On February 28th Scott Alexander Nicholas a convicted Sex Offender that resides on Gamble Road reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On February 28th Kellyton Medics were dispatched to CR 86 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

KELLYTON

On February 27th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 85 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

On February 28th Kellyton Medics were dispatched to Hwy 280 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

On February 28th a Deputy was dispatched to Cherry Hill Drive after receiving a report of a private property accident. A report was completed without incident.

On March 3rd a Deputy was dispatched to CR 46 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

RICHVILLE

On March 2nd Deputy Jones attended the Monthly Neighborhood Watch Meeting where he presented the monthly crime report for the area.

 

ROCKFORD

On March 2nd Kellyton Medics were dispatched to Turner Hill after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

On March 3rd a Deputy was dispatched to Herb Valley Drive after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. A report for Domestic Violence 3rd/Menacing was completed and the warrant process was explained.

COTTAGE GROVE / HISSOP

On March 2nd a Deputy was dispatched to CR 30 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested

LAKE MITCHELL

On March 3rd a Deputy was dispatched to CR 27 after receiving a report of Menacing. A report was completed and the warrant process was explained.

On February 21st Deputy Jones arrested Jim H. Girdner from Equality, AL. on warrants for Failure to Pay/Menacing, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He was processed and released after fines were paid.

On February 23rd Deputy Jones arrested Jack Curtis Harrell from Rockford, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Domestic Violence 3rd. He was processed and placed in the County Jail to await trial.

On February 24th Lt. Burke arrested Gregory Chase Owens from Childersburg, AL. on the charge of Probation Violation. He was processed and placed in the County Jail to await trial.

On February 24th Corporal Moon arrested Timthie Roland Wall from Goodwater, AL. on a Probation Violation (Drug Court Sanction). He was processed and placed in the County Jail to serve a 5-Day Sanction.

On February 25th Deputy Jones arrested Kentavius Bernard Ford from Alexander City, AL. on the charges of Possession of a Concealed Weapon Without a Permit and Possession of Marijuana 2nd. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $5000 bond to await trial.

On February 25th Deputy Jones arrested Kenneth Alfonza Moon Jr. from Goodwater, AL. on the charges of Possession of a Concealed Weapon without a Permit and Possession of Marijuana 2nd. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $5000 bond to await trial.

On February 26th Deputy Jones arrested Devunte Leshun Moon from Goodwater, AL. on the charges of Attempting to Elude, Possession of a Concealed Weapon Without a Permit and Possession of Stolen Property. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $7500 bond to await trial.

On February 26th Lt. Keel arrested Gregory Lynn Jones from Alpine, AL. on Grand Jury Indictments for Theft of Property 1st, Theft of Property 3rd and Burglary 3rd. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $20,000 bond to await trial.

On February 26th Deputy Jones arrested Kenneth Thomas Wall from Goodwater, AL. on a warrant for Domestic Violence 3rd/Assault. He was processed and released on a $2500 bond to await trial.

On February 26th Deputy Jones arrested Harry Patton Walls from Carrolton, GA. on a warrant for Failure to Appear/Shoplifting from Carrolton, Ga. He was processed and awaiting extradition back to Georgia.

On February 20th Stewartville and Weogufka First Responders along with a Deputy were dispatched to Burford Lane after receiving a report of a missing person. After a brief search the person was located and Sylacauga Ambulance transported them to Coosa Valley Medical Center.

On February 21st Randy Wayne Adair a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 70 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On February 21st Freddie Richard Johns Jr. a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 41 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On February 21st Bobby Aaron Saffold a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 70 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

WEOGUFKA

On February 20th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 55 after receiving a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

On February 24th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 280 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. A report for Domestic Violence 3rd/Assault was completed and the warrant process was explained.

KELLYTON

On February 21st Raymond Adam Chillura a convicted Sex Offender that resides on Long Tree Dr reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On February 21st Johnathan Wayne Vines a convicted Sex Offender that resides on Hwy 280 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On February 26th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 19 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

ROCKFORD

On February 26th Rockford First Responders and Haynes Ambulance were dispatched to CR 40 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

SPEED

 On February 21st E.G. Isbell a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 8 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

COTTAGE GROVE / HISSOP

On February 20th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 93 after receiving a report of an Identity Theft. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

On February 21st Carey Tumane Leonard a convicted Sex Offender that resides on CR 101 reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On February 24th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 22 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

EQUALITY

On February 22nd Equality First Responders and Kellyton Medics were dispatched to Hwy 259 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

LAKE MARTIN

On February 21st Equality First Responders and Haynes Ambulance were dispatched to CR 2 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

On February 21st a Deputy was dispatched to CR 55 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

On February 23rd Weogufka First Responders and Haynes Ambulance were dispatched to Cedar Circle after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to a local hospital.

SMYRNA

On February 24th Kellyton Medics, a Deputy and an Alabama State Trooper was dispatched to Raccoon Trail after receiving a report of a one vehicle accident. There were no reported injuries and the scene was turned over to the Trooper.

On February 15th Deputy House arrested Randy William Byczek from Eclectic, AL. on warrants for Failure to Appear/Speeding and Failure to Display Insurance and also the charges of Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 1st. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $2,000 bond and no bond on the Failure to Appear warrants to await trial.

On February 15th Corporal Moon arrested Joshua Andrew Bouwens from Warrior, AL. on warrants for Failure to Appear / Open Container, Failure to Display Insurance, Driving While Revoked and Speeding. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On February 16th Corporal Moon arrested Nosqualilas Jujuan Blake from Wetumpka, AL. on a warrant for Failure to Appear / Driving While Revoked. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On February 16th Lt. Burke arrested Terry Wayne Ray from Weogufka, AL. on the charges of Rape and Sexual Abuse 2nd. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $45,000 bond to await trial.

On February 19th Weogufka First Responders and Sylacauga Ambulance were dispatched to CR 132 after a resident requested medical assistance. One person was air lifted by Life Saver to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham.

On February 9th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 231 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. The Deputy spoke to both parties and the issue was resolved when one of the subjects left the premises.

On February 11th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 280 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

On January 31st a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 231 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. A report for Domestic Violence 3rd / Harassment was completed and the warrant process was explained.

On February 2nd a Deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office after a resident came in to report a case of Harassment. A report was completed and the warrant process was explained.

GOODWATER

On January 30th Kenneth Ray Swindell a convicted Sex Offender that resides on Queen Street reported to the Sheriff’s Office to update his quarterly Sex Offender information.

On January 30th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 140 after receiving a report of Harassment. A report was completed and the warrant process was explained.

KELLYTON

On February 1st Kellyton Medics were dispatched to CR 71 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

On February 2nd a Deputy was dispatched to Pine Tree Road after receiving a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

On February 3rd Goodwater Medics were dispatched to CR 65 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

On February 4th Kellyton Medics were dispatched to CR 126 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

On February 2nd Corporal Moon attended the Monthly Neighborhood Watch Meeting where he presented the monthly crime report for the area.

On February 4th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 152 after receiving a report of a private property accident. A report was completed without incident.

ROCKFORD

On February 3rd Rockford First Responders and Haynes Ambulance were dispatched to Hwy 22 after a resident requested medical assistance. The resident was transported to Russell Medical Center.

On February 4th a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 231 after receiving a report of a domestic dispute. After a report was completed for Domestic Violence 3rd/Harassment, two subjects were arrested for the charge.

A Deputy was dispatched to the Sheriff’s Office after a resident came in to report a case of Harassment. A report for Domestic Violence 3rd/Harassment was completed and the warrant process was explained.

On February 1st a Deputy was dispatched to Hwy 22 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

On February 2nd a Deputy was dispatched to CR 155 after receiving a report of a Theft of Property. A report was completed and the case was turned over to the Investigator.

SALEM

On February 2nd a Deputy was dispatched to Browns Loop after receiving a report of Criminal Mischief. A report was completed and the case is under investigation.

ARRESTS

On January 23rd Deputy Lipscomb arrested Randy Lee Jones Jr. from Weogufka, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On January 25th Deputy Lipscomb arrested Nataya Lanetria Thomas from Alexander City, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation/Drug Court Sanction. She was processed and placed in the County Jail to serve a 48 Hour Drug Court Sanction.

On January 25th Deputy Rudd arrested Joseph Earl Whitman from Clanton, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation. He was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On January 26th Deputy Lipscomb arrested Brian Wayne Hart from Leeds , AL. on warrants for Theft of Property 1st , Burglary 3rd and Theft of Property 3rd. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $40,000 bond to await trial.

On January 26th Deputy Rudd arrested Amethyst Dawn Simpson from Dadeville, AL. on a warrant for Probation Violation. She was processed and placed in the County Jail without bond to await trial.

On January 27th Deputy House arrested Thomas Charles Thompson from Alexander City, AL. on the charges of Driving Under the Influence, Possession of Marijuana 2nd and Speeding. He was processed and placed in the County Jail on a $ 4300 bond to await trial.

MARBLE VALLEY

On January 25th Marble Valley First Responders, Sylacauga Ambulance and Deputies were dispatched to CR 5 after receiving a report of a gunshot victim. One person was airlifted by LifeSaver to UAB Hospital in Birmingham and the scene was turned over to the Deputies.

 

STEWARTVILLE

On January 26th Stewartville First Responders, Sylacauga Ambulance, a Deputy and an Alabama State Trooper were dispatched to Hwy 280 near CR 150 after receiving a report of a two vehicle accident. One person was transported to Coosa Valley Medical Center and the scene was turned over to the Trooper.

On January 28th a Deputy was dispatched to CR 29 after receiving a request for a funeral escort. The Deputy completed the escort as requested.

Shooting in Hidden Valley

PRESS RELEASE

 

January 27, 2017

On January 25, 2017, at approximately 1:22 p.m. a 911 call was received by the Coosa County Sheriff’s Dispatch Center indicating a person had been shot on Coosa County Road 5 in the Hidden Valley Community.

Deputies arrived on scene and found Sylacauga Ambulance and Marble Valley Fire first responders rendering assistance to Charlie Hayes, 63, of Hidden Valley who had sustained a gunshot wound. Mr. Hayes was airlifted to UAB Hospital and later died from his injuries.

The scene was secured by the Sheriff’s Deputies and a preliminary investigation revealed there was a dispute, concerning a dog, between Hayes and Michael Mitchell, 73, of Marble Valley. The investigation is actively ongoing. All findings will be turned over to the 40th Judicial Circuit District Attorney upon completion of the investigation.
